I will utilize activities and lesson plans from the following;
Vroom.org, the Creative Curriculum, Funshine Express, and Clubhouse
kids. However, I will not strictly follow any curriculum or make
children sit down to complete table work. I believe in creating a
play-based learning style that is nurtured by interactions with engaged
adults.
Engaged play helps children develop approaches to
learning by fostering curiosity, initiative, problem solving, focus, and
persistence. We will work on learning numbers while counting stairs as
we walk them, recognizing colors by talking about each other's outfits,
and fitting STEAM lessons into handwashing. Every moment of the day is
an opportunity for your child to learn! Your child will lead their
learning by showing me their interests; I will nurture their learning by
providing them with activities, games, and conversations to expand their
interests.
